About the Institution

Leeds Beckett University is a public university in Leeds, England, with modern teaching and research activity across its City and Headingley campuses. The university traces its origins back to 1824 (Leeds Mechanics’ Institute heritage) and became a Higher Education Corporation in 1989, then gained university status in 1992. It was renamed Leeds Beckett University in 2014 (from Leeds Metropolitan University). In TEF 2023, it is listed with Overall: Bronze; Student Experience: Silver; Student Outcomes: Bronze.
